Making the transition from managing yourself to managing others can be an exciting and challenging time. How can you make the impact you want to make from day one?

This online workshop is designed to support new and aspiring managers in building the foundation skills of people management. We will give you a full overview of your key responsibilities and explore some of the early-day challenges you can expect. We show you how to engage your team behind meaningful objectives, making sure they feel focused and empowered. You will learn the value of the ‘coaching check-in’ to support and direct team output.

Those who are moving into their first management role, as well as those who are aiming to step up and take on extra responsibility.

  • Understand what to expect when making the transition from managing
    yourself to managing others
  • Build your understanding of the role of people manager and the
    responsibilities it brings
  • Prepare for the challenges of the early days in your new role including
    boundary setting and setting expectations
  • Explore how to set the focus for your new team using the OKR (objectives and
    key results) framework
  • Discover how to support performance with regular check-ins and feedback
    conversations
  • Learn how to identify and tackle common performance challenges, drawing
    on the key competencies of emotional intelligence
