M is for mini-me recruitment

They may not be aware of it, but many managers are guilty of recruiting using the “mini me” rule – employing team members in their own image. It’s an easy trap to fall into, but it’s certainly not good for business.

Having too many similar personality traits within the same office breeds a vanilla-favoured homogeneity. If creativity is to be embraced, managers need to look outside of their comfort zones and employ people willing to challenge how things are done.

After all, if you keep putting the same thing in, you’ll get the same things out.
